About my work

My work can be seen as a maze in which realities, connections and layers are continuously added/peeled off and franticly shift. It is an outward result of the struggle, involving both the inward desire of freeing myself from the overwhelming amounts of input and finding refuge from their violent intrusion, and the healing of what seems broken in today’s world, in the self-created universe. Yet, in each finalized work lies the realization of failing to grasp this desire and the inability of my own constructions against the deconstruction.

That’s why I describe myself as ‘the artist as servant’: as someone who serves the arts while also being enslaved by it. For it is this ongoing battle between freedom and captivity, the tension between warmth (the act of creating, breathing, sharing a piece of the inner self, trying to heal, to connect and understand) and coldness (the reoccurring systems of reduction, of destruction, my own physical and mental borders, existential loneliness), between meaning and meaningless, the real and the absurd, themes that are leading motives in both my practice and life.

There are no definite answers, just the constant rebuilding for closure. One that draws inspiration from all possible sources, that tries to comfort itself in different styles and techniques.
